QUESTIONS

Before You Book

What's the difference between a private, duet, and trio Pilates session?

It comes down to how many people are on the floor with you. A private is one-to-one for the full fifty minutes, programmed entirely around you. A duet is two, so you and a friend or partner split the session and the cost while still being coached hands-on. A trio is three, and three is as large as TrueForm goes — there is no group class option, on any day.

What should I expect from my first session at TrueForm Pilates?

Give it about fifty minutes, and expect to be asked as much as instructed. We start with your goals, any injuries or problem areas, and what your week actually looks like, then get you onto the reformer and the rest of the apparatus at whatever pace fits. Corrections come throughout — that is what the format is for. Wear something fitted you can move in and bring socks, grippy ones if you have them. Beginners are the norm here, not the exception.

Where can I find Pilates classes in Dexter, Michigan?

Search from Dexter and most of what comes back will be large group reformer classes. If training in a room of twelve is not what you are after, TrueForm Pilates is a private studio in Saline, roughly 20–25 minutes away via South Maple Road, running private, duet and trio sessions only.

WHO YOU TRAIN WITH

CARLY
JAKUBOWSKI

Owner-instructor, True Form Pilates

True Form is owner-operated. You train with the person whose name is on the studio, not whichever instructor the schedule assigned that week.

Every session here is private, duet, or trio, on the full classical apparatus. That means someone is watching how you move and adjusting the work to your body, session to session, instead of running a room of twelve through the same routine.
